Amanda has been wanting me to shoot her wedding since before she was engaged, so when the time came, I was like

Seriously though, Amanda is an incredible human. I have to admit, I’ve always had a bit of a big sister watchful eye over her (even though I’m pretty sure we’re about the same age?! yikes), to make sure the world doesn’t attempt to ruin or change the wonderful human that she is, but I wasn’t worried when John entered the picture. I mean, come on. First of all, he is warm, vulnerable, open, and incredibly kind, to the point where you’re pretty sure he’s playing you, but he’s not! He’s a hospice music therapist (DEAR GOD MY HEART) and looks like a damn Disney prince. I mean come ON.

Being around the two of them was pretty freaking inspiring. They clearly love each other very deeply and use this love to be in service to one another and their families and communities. We had a blast taking these photos around Detroit in the springtime at the Detroit Public Library, Eastern Market, and on Belle Isle when the flowers were just starting to bloom, and we ate Thai food like it was going out of style. I mean, come on.
